Job Description - Shipping/Receiving Clerk (Contract to Hire)

Description

SetPoint Medical’s Shipping/Receiving Clerk will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient management of shipping and receiving in support of SetPoint's novel medical device. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of urgency, a willingness to learn, a proactive attitude, and keen attention to detail, with the ability to think creatively and be resourceful. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

This position is in office, Monday - Friday, reporting to company headquarters in Valencia, CA.  

Requirements

Position Responsibilities:

  • Carries out all shipping and receiving tasks with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ensures all transactions are completed with proper quality and traceability documentation in the ERP system.
  • Quickly identifies and reports any discrepancies to carriers, supervisors, managers, and relevant Operations team members.
  • Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments.
  • Maintains inventory control system to ensure that orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to other departments as required.
  • Maintains an accurate running inventory.
  • Restocks supplies and inventory; places blanket and special orders as needed.
  • Enters purchase order data in the inventory control system.
  • Accepts, verifies, inspects, and records all deliveries according to policy.
  • Records, reports, and returns defective items. 
  • Processes invoices, supplying necessary data to accounting or other appropriate department for payment and recordkeeping.
  • Maintains the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
  • Handles complaints related to shipments; notifies supervisor of any shipping or receiving issues. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking abilities, with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Frequent movement depending on task requirements; must be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods as required.
  • Must be able to complete various activities in the warehouse that may require lifting, standing, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 25 pounds at a time.

Travel Requirements: 

Minimal, with opportunities based on availability and interest.
