Shipping/Receiving Personnel

Job Summary

Shipping and Receiving Personnel perform a wide range of operational tasks and procedures on a daily basis. This position is responsible for numerous inventory and production related duties that include but are not limited to: loading and unloading trucks, performing basic inventory counts and stacking and organizing materials on the yard. This position will work closely with the General Manager, Production Supervisor(s), and the Sales Team to ensure an organized and efficient flow of materials through the plant on a daily basis.  This position is for our first shift.  Pay range is $14.00 - $14.25 per hour, plus overtime.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED equivalent minimum
• 2 + years previous forklift experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting
• Experience with large forklifts (15,000 lbs.) and loading / unloading large steel structures preferred

Summary of essential job functions

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Loading and unloading all materials, including large structural steel, in a safe, organized and efficient manner
• Tracking all materials that are on site, both company stock and customer materials
• Keeping the yard and materials neat and organized
• Assisting with month end inventory as needed
• Communicating with the General Manager, Supervisor(s), and Sales personnel as necessary

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally is mandatory
• Must be able to keep inventory counts and do simple calculations for weights and loading trucks
• Must possess problem solving and communication skills
• Ability to work 10 hour shifts, or until the job is complete, outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to multitask and stay focused in a fast paced work environment
• Ability to drive 18 wheel yard truck is a plus
• Ability to occasionally move / lift items weighing up to 100 lbs.
