Position Summary The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for managing inbound and outbound shipments efficiently and accurately. This position supports manufacturing and distribution operations by ensuring that all shipments meet deadlines, are documented properly, and comply with customer requirements and internal processes. This role works closely with the warehouse, production, and logistics teams to coordinate timely deliveries and receipts.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and process all incoming materials according to packing slips and purchase orders
Accurately match physical parts with packing slips and system data
Label products with barcodes and scan/store documentation digitally
Enter receipts accurately into the ERP system (IFS)
Move received materials to correct warehouse locations
Maintain 5S Lean workplace practices (clean and organized area)
Process daily outbound shipments, primarily domestic LTL
Collect shipping documentation including weights, dimensions, sales orders, and BOLs
Communicate with Production to confirm product availability
Track and report daily shipments and delivery receipts
Coordinate with customer logistics for routed shipments
Assist Parcel Clerk and Freight Packager as needed
Other duties as assigned by management
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
2-3 years’ experience in a shipping and/or receiving role
Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably IFS)
Good math and data entry skills
Forklift operation experience
Strong time management and organizational abilities
Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds
Independent work ethic and teamwork attitude
Commitment to safety, accuracy, and meeting deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment
Experience working with LTL carriers and freight documentation
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles (5S)
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Job Hours & Location
Monday- Friday 8:30am-5pm
Overtime availability especially near the end of the month
