Shop Assistant Manager-Car Dealership

San Marcos Chrysler Dodge Ram Jeep is seeking an experienced, dedicated and technical-focused Shop Assistant Manager to lead our team of technicians. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing techs, and maintaining a safe and efficient workshop. You will act as a liaison between the Service Manager, Service Advisors and Technicians.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily workflow of technicians and service advisors to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and accurately 


• Assist in recruiting, scheduling, and training service staff. Lead daily huddles and coach the team on sales techniques and product knowledge


• Monitor shop performance and implement strategies for improvement


• Enforce all safety policies (OSHA) and ensure the shop remains clean and organized.


• Work with the manager to achieve sales, productivity, and gross margin objectives


• Oversee inventory, order supplies, and maintain shop equipment

Requirements

• 2+ Years of prior experience in automotive repair and leadership roles


• 2+ Years Stellantis technician experience preferred


• Excellent communication and customer service skills


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a team effectively


• Familiarity with Dealer Management Systems (Dealertrack, Dealerconnect preferred)


• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities


• Must have a clean driving record and valid DL.


• Must be willing to complete a background check and possible drug test
