Shop Foreman

TranSource Truck & Equipment, Inc. is a growing company representing Mack Trucks and Volvo Construction Equipment, along with being the Servicing Dealer for multiple other product lines that support the On Highway, Construction and Agriculture Industry.

We are currently looking for a Shop Foreman in our Rapid City location. Must have 5 years' experience shop experience and/or equivalent, plus management experience.

The Service Foreman ensures that qualified diesel mechanics perform repairs correctly and efficiently and that the service department maintains a consistently high level of satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Technicians in developing their skills with your support.
• Schedule repair work and assign technician(s) to mechanical segments that match their skill level to ensure quality.
• Ensure that all repairs are assigned to Technicians in an equal and fair manner.
• Provide technical support for Technicians when necessary.
• Check progress and accuracy of each repair order throughout the day.
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
• Review systems and RO’s to make sure they are accurate to achieve goals of the service department.
• Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
• Monitor Technicians daily productivity reports.
• Works closely with Service Manager and Service Advisors.
• Supervisor/Management/Foreman experience is required.

• At least 3–5 years of experience in a shop or environment, including supervisory experience  
• Diesel Mechanic experience required and/ or a two-year technical degree.
• Strong knowledge of tools, equipment, and processes relevant to the industry 
• Proven leadership and team management skills 
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Basic computer skills for reporting, scheduling, and communication
