Shop Foreman

Position Overview

The Shop Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily shop operations, supervising technicians and staff, ensuring work quality, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating workflow to maximize productivity. This role acts as a bridge between management and shop employees, ensuring that customer expectations and company goals are consistently met. Helping communicate daily updates with dispatch on all equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Supervise, train, and support shop staff/technicians in performing their duties.

· Assign and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely completion.

· Inspect work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with company and industry standards.

· Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

· Coordinate with management on scheduling, resource allocation, and staffing needs.

· Monitor and enforce adherence to safety policies and procedures.

· Assist with diagnosing technical issues and providing hands-on support when necessary.

· Maintain shop tools, equipment, and inventory in good working condition.

· Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members.

· Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and employee performance.

· Additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent (technical/vocational training preferred).

· 3+ years of experience in a shop, service, or maintenance environment, with supervisory experience preferred.

· Strong technical knowledge of shop equipment, tools, and industry standards.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, or schematics.

· Strong organizational and time-management skills.

· Commitment to safety and quality.

· Computer skills using different programs

· Commercial driver license preferred.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move equipment/parts as required.

· Comfortable working in a shop environment with varying conditions.

· Sitting for periods of time at a desk
