Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Overtime is available
• No rotating shifts
• Paid holidays (no waiting period)

Work Environment:

• Fayetteville, NC
• Primary work environment is an indoor service and maintenance shop, with occasional field or outdoor work as needed.
• Specialty work on fire trucks and ambulances

 Key Job Duties: 

• Assisting the Service Center Manager with planning, scheduling, performing, directing, and evaluating the maintenance and repair of fire and emergency apparatuses.  
• Analyze malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains fire and emergency equipment. 
• Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose discrepancies. 
• Dismantle, repair, reassemble vehicles or equipment utilizing hand tools and hoists. 
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using precision measuring equipment. 
• Repair, rebuild, overhaul, replace defective assemblies and components such as collector gear boxes, transfer cases, differentials, and both water or hydraulic pumps. 
• Test overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency. 
• Weld broken parts and structural members.  

What we’re looking for:

• Diesel mechanic experience, preferably with heavy duty or emergency vehicles
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening

• This role includes standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing. 
• The position involves exposure to typical shop conditions such as noise, odors, grease, and occasional outdoor weather.
