About the Opportunity



We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Shop Foreman to lead refurbishing and repair operations in Livingston, TX. This role is responsible for providing daily leadership to production employees, ensuring safe and efficient execution of work, and maintaining high standards for quality, delivery, and accountability. The ideal candidate has experience in switchgear, transformers, breakers, switches, electrical equipment repair or manufacturing, or a similar industrial environment, along with a demonstrated track record of driving process improvements, reducing downtime, improving workflow, and developing high-performing teams.

 


​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​Essential Functions



  • Lead, coach, and support 2nd shift production employees to meet daily safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and housekeeping expectations.

  • Coordinate work assignments, manpower needs, materials, tools, and equipment to support production schedules and customer deadlines.

  • Oversee repair, assembly, inspection, testing, or manufacturing activities related to switchgear, transformers, breakers, switches, electrical distribution equipment, or similar industrial products.

  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, work instructions, quality standards, and safety requirements.

  • Identify and resolve production issues, bottlenecks, rework drivers, equipment concerns, and material constraints through clear communication and timely escalation.

  • Drive process improvement initiatives that improve throughput, reduce waste, improve quality, lower cost, and strengthen 2nd shift performance.

  • Conduct shift start-up meetings, communicate priorities, review performance metrics, and ensure effective turnover between shifts.

  • Train, develop, and hold team members accountable for safe work practices, standard work, attendance, productivity, and quality expectations.

  • Maintain accurate shift documentation, including production updates, labor allocation, quality issues, safety observations, and improvement actions.

  • Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable quality procedures.

  • Partner with operations, planning, engineering, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to support production flow and issue resolution.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to supporting plant organization, employee engagement, and continuous improvement activities.


​​​​​​​Experience/Education​​​​​​


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, technical certification, or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, business, or a related field preferred.

  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, repair, electrical equipment, industrial production, or similar environment required.

  • Prior leadership, lead person, or supervisory experience in production, repair, maintenance, or manufacturing preferred.

  • Experience with switchgear, transformers, breakers, switches, electrical distribution equipment, electrical repair, or related industrial equipment strongly preferred.

  • Proven process improvement experience, including examples of improving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, workflow, labor efficiency, or cost performance.

  • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, root cause analysis, or similar continuous improvement exposure preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of safety procedures, quality standards, production documentation, and shift reporting.

  • Basic computer skills, including ability to complete production reports, review schedules, communicate by email, and use common business systems.

  • Ability and willingness to work 2nd shift, overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules as business needs require.
