Job Description:

This position is focused on the operation and maintenance of the passivation workstation to passivate parts/assemblies according to all safety and quality standards. It entails facilitating workflow through the passivation area according to established priority and documentation procedures, maintaining good housekeeping, organization, and effective communication. It also involves the operation of other equipment, such as cranes and forklifts, working jointly with others, and product handling. This position will require assisting others in workflow duties, may eventually necessitate training others in passivation, and learning other machines and duties as part of an ongoing cross-training program.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain the passivation unit, pressure washer, and other equipment as needed


• Document and perform stocking and restocking of passivation chemicals and materials


• Communicate with outside support personnel for parts, consumables, and maintenance of the passivation equipment


• Assist others in the department as needed


• Document job completions and/or times through established computer/email interfaces


• Maintain organization and housekeeping in the passivation area, and your department


• Perform part/assembly inspections and assessments as a critical element of the quality assurance process


• Operate cranes, forklifts, and other apparatus to lift, move, or manipulate material or product


• Train others for expansion of qualified passivation operator pool


• Promote team unity, integrity, and pride in work well done


• Adhere to all safety & quality control standards


• Advance in personal and professional growth


• Cross training with shipping & receiving and general shop help

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

• Requires the ability to regularly lift and manipulate 70 pounds


• Requires the ability to stand or remain standing in an upright position for long periods of time


• Regularly bend, stoop, carry, lift, or traverse with as a means of transporting or organizing parts, product, or subassemblies


• Industrial painting experience is a plus, but not required - we can provide training


• Worksite contains varied industrial conditions that require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to strict safety procedures regarding limited access/confined spaces


• Occasional alternate shifts will be required based on work load


• Requires strong awareness of safety while handling passivation chemicals
