Shop Manager

United Dredging is growing fast, and our equipment is the backbone of everything we do. We’re looking for a Shop Manager who can lead our mechanics, keep our fleet running strong, and make sure field crews have reliable equipment every day.

In this role, you’ll oversee all maintenance and repairs for heavy equipment, trucks, and support vehicles. You’ll manage shop workflow, supervise mechanics, and stay on top of inventory, tools, and compliance. You’ll also work closely with field teams to troubleshoot issues, minimize downtime, and keep operations moving.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, repair, or shop management (construction, mining, or heavy equipment industry preferred)


• Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems


• Experience supervising or leading a team of mechanics or technicians


• Ability to manage shop workflow, parts inventory, and service records


• Familiarity with DOT, OSHA, and shop safety standards


• Solid organizational and problem-solving skills


• Strong communication skills to coordinate across shop and field teams


• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work safely around heavy equipment
