Shop Porter/Helper

Sterling KIA in Lafayette, LA is seeking a dependable and hardworking Shop Porter/Helper to support our service department operations. This individual will play a key role in maintaining a clean and safe work environment for our technicians, as well as moving vehicles. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Moving vehicles from one point to another on the dealership lot
• Transporting vehicles between the dealership and off-premise locations occasionally
• Assisting our Service Department customers with transportation off premises as needed
• Sweep, mop, and maintain clean floors in the service bays and shop area
• Empty trash cans throughout the shop and dispose of waste properly
• Clean and organize technician work areas and common shop spaces
• Must be comfortable with working in outside setting with exposure to elements
• Position also requires standing and walking for the majority of the work day
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues
• Perform other duties as assigned to support technicians and service staff

Qualifications & Job Requirements:

• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Prior experience in a similar role is a plus, but not required
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check & drug screen
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and be at least 18 years of age due to insurance purposes
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday
Starting pay: $12/hr
