Job Description - Signals Train Control Engineering Specialist

STV is looking to add a dedicated Signals Train Control Engineering Specialist to join our growing Systems/Security team. The Signals Train Control Engineering Specialist will be responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of railway signal and train control systems. This role requires a deep understanding of signaling technologies and systems, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of railway networks.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development: Create detailed designs for signal and train control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Develop and update schematics, plans, and specifications.
System Integration: Integrate signaling systems with existing and new railway infrastructure. Ensure compatibility and optimal performance across all system components.
Testing and Commissioning: Develop and execute testing protocols for signal and control systems. Oversee the commissioning process to verify system performance and safety.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform regular maintenance and diagnostics on signal and control systems. Identify and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure all signal and control systems meet regulatory requirements and safety standards. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate potential hazards.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of signal and control systems, including design specifications, test results, and maintenance records. Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Innovation and Improvement: Stay updated on the latest advancements in signaling technology and train control systems. Propose and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 25 years of experience in railway signal and train control systems engineering and construction
Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, signal design tools, and railway signaling standards (e.g., AREMA, CENELEC). Strong understanding of microprocessor-based control systems and communication networks.
Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Capability to perform complex calculations and analyses.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Travel: Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Work Environment:
Combination of office and fieldwork, with exposure to outdoor elements during site visits and installations.
Adherence to strict safety protocols and guidelines is mandatory.

Compensation Range:
$122,808.00 - $163,744.00
