Job Summary:

Simulation Assistants (SAs) work under the supervision of the Simulation Lab Manager to enact a simulation script provided by faculty during student simulation activities.

Candidates that are under 18 years of age on the date of hire will be required to provide a guardian waiver prior to beginning employment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Follows scripted simulation scenarios which may include:

• role play of a patient with medical or other conditions in an interaction with students

• set up of initial simulation state

• using technology to enact a simulation script throughout a simulation scenario

• Under direction of faculty, may provide feedback directly to students regarding selected aspects of student interaction.

• Participates in and contributes to the upkeep of the Simulation Center and simulators.

• Provides feedback to the Simulation Manager and Associate Dean and/or nursing faculty regarding quality improvements that may improve student learning and/or efficiency in the operation of the simulation lab.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to consistently simulate a case scenario in a standardized manner. The position requires good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others in a respectful manner.

• SAs must show willingness to be flexible with scheduling and assignments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and background in health care

This position is benefits-eligible for workers’ compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
