Provides guidance in the administration and implementation of safety programs; coordinates safety activities with other departments; provides administrative and technical advice to supervisors and employees to ensure safety control mechanisms. Ensure compliance with all Federal and State guidance and company safety procedures and policy.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities:
· Conduct monthly safety training and specific topic trainings (PIT, Crane, LOTO, Confined Space etc..)
· Implement safety programs and ensure they are being followed
· Conduct safety audits on a regular basis
· Attend safety walks and inspections before or during each project to analyze safety risks
· Educate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safe machinery operation
· Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace
· Conduct incident investigations
· Maintain incident and training documentation
· Collaborates with EHS Director and department leadership to document changes to standard work processes.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred or
· 2+ years’ experience in safety, training or compliance
· experience in conducting incident and accident investigations
· Able to work in varied and harsh weather conditions which may include work at night/weekends
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Interest in Manufacturing
· Certified Safety Professional (preferred)
