About Our Client:

Founded in 1970, our Client's beginnings as a service company were exclusive to the oilfield industry. Since being awarded their first mine contract in 1980, they have successfully completed a multitude of mine contracts, state highway work, municipality projects, county work, private site work, major railroad projects, oilfield service contracts, coal-bed methane development, safety-of-dams reservoirs, abandoned mine reclamation, and many other interesting projects. From design to build, they have accumulated vast amounts of experience and knowledge that has been a very valuable asset in the services we provide.

Job Summary:

Our Client is seeking a Site Supervisor with experience in heavy civil construction, specializing in dirt work. This role oversees on-site operations, manages crews and equipment, and ensures projects are completed safely, on time, and to spec. Strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of earthmoving and grading are essential.

Although this position is based in Wyoming, the job requires the flexibility to possibly work in Montana, as well.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage site-level operations for heavy civil and dirt work projects.
• Lead crews on grading, utility installation, and general site preparation (non-vertical construction).
• Operate and supervise use of yellow iron and other heavy equipment.
• Collaborate with large general contractors on complex job sites.
• Maintain project schedules, ensuring work is completed on time and within scope.
• Ensure job site safety, compliance with OSHA standards is a strong plus.

Qualifications:

• Strong background in heavy equipment operation and site supervision.
• Proven managerial skills with the ability to lead field teams effectively.
• Experience with large-scale civil projects and coordination with GCs.
• Willingness to relocate or travel for long-term projects as needed.
• Understanding of site grading, utility work, and non-vertical construction practices.
• Scheduling experience preferred.
• OSHA certifications or familiarity with safety regulations is a plus.
• Level-headed and calm under pressure.
• Safety-minded with a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
• Team player who works well with both field staff and management.
