Job Description:
The Site/Civil Design Department Manager is responsible for strategizing and overseeing project management functions within the Site/Civil division. They guarantee the alignment of all projects and procedures with the organization's set policies and goals.
The ideal candidate is growth minded and a strong leader. They should have a proven track record in leading, managing, and executing civil engineering design tasks, including but not limited to site/land development, storm water management, and hydraulics design.
Responsibilities: - Undertakes project management responsibilities encompassing planning, developing, implementing, managing, and assessing design projects to ensure the fulfillment of objectives. - Supervises departmental expenses and budgeting to aid the organization in optimizing costs and benefits. - Supervises and actively participates in the creation of design drawings adhering to various federal, state, and municipal standards governing roadway engineering projects. - Maintain client satisfaction/confidentiality and ensure projects not only meet but surpass their expectations. - Offers design guidance to production design staff and oversees quality assurance/quality control processes. - Trains, mentors, and fosters the growth of junior engineers specializing in site civil design. - Creates design drawings utilizing AutoCAD/Civil3D or similar software. - Engages in project administrative tasks such as proposal preparation, monthly billing, billing projections, etc. - Provides mentorship and encouragement to teams to enhance productivity and involvement. - Assists in project pursuits by providing technical expertise during proposal creation and marketing meetings. - Ensures timely and budget-compliant management of all projects within the Site/Civil Department. - Takes responsibility for ensuring that core departmental processes are documented and adhered to by all team members.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements: - Holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. - Professional Engineering (PE) license is mandatory. - 7-10 years of Site/Civil experience in design and leading. - Prior experience with both private and public sector clients is heavily preferred. - Experience in Civil Design is required. - Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication abilities.
