We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Skid Builder to join our team. This entry-level position involves using scrap laminated particle board and machinery to create skids for shipping cabinetry. The skids will vary in size to accommodate different cabinetry dimensions. The ideal candidate will have the ability to train with machinery and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate machinery to cut and assemble scrap laminated particle board into skids.
Measure and adjust skid dimensions to fit various sizes of cabinetry.
Ensure skids are built to company standards for quality and durability.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor.
Requirements
Basic understanding of woodworking and carpentry principles.
Ability to operate and train on machinery used in skid building.
Familiarity with measuring tools and techniques.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
Basic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or woodworking environment.
Knowledge of safety practices in a workshop setting.
