Job Description - Skilled Laborer Foreman - Night Crew

At Gardner, we believe commercial construction should feel as welcoming as it is professional. That’s why we don’t just build and remodel, we build relationships, rooted in hospitality. Our mission is to set the platinum standard for our clients, partners, and team members by delivering exceptional results while embodying our core values: passion, humility, excellence, empathy, and nimbleness. We bring a hospitality-driven approach to every project, ensuring that every interaction is thoughtful, responsive, and human-centered.

Who You Are

You are a driven, hands-on leader who takes pride in doing the job right. You thrive in fast-paced environments, hold high standards for safety and quality, and are energized by mentoring others. You understand the value of teamwork and communication, and you’re ready to lead with purpose — even in the overnight hours.

How You’ll Contribute

As a Demolition Night Crew Foreman, you are a key member of our Skilled Laborer team. You will:

  • Lead and orchestrate night crew laborers on-site, ensuring scope, expectations, and estimated hours are understood and executed efficiently.

  • Oversee demolition efforts including removal of sheetrock, ceiling grids/tiles, flooring, and floor grinding.

  • Attend project kick-off meetings (for jobs over 300 hours) and ensure close-out/lessons-learned meetings occur.

  • Order materials as needed and communicate out-of-scope work to the Laborer Superintendent and project team daily.

  • Forecast staffing needs proactively and align laborers' strengths with project tasks.

  • Report estimate variances to the SPW estimator, Laborer Superintendent, and Project Team.

  • Ensure timecards are coded accurately and breaks and shift durations are followed.

  • Conduct scope checks and knowledge transfers at the close of each project

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a skilled laborer with demolition experience

  • OSHA-10 Certification

  • Experience leading teams and coordinating work on job sites

  • Solid understanding of construction site safety and lifting techniques

  • Ability to organize, communicate, and execute tasks effectively

  • Tech-savvy enough to use a smartphone for documentation and communication

What Will Set You Apart

  • Journeyman laborer status preferred

  • ICRA training preferred

  • Natural leadership and mentoring abilities

  • A proactive mindset and the ability to stay calm under pressure

  • Passion for doing high-quality work and pushing others to do the same

What to Expect on the Night Crew

Our Demolition Night Crew works a consistent overnight schedule of Monday through Thursday, 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM (four 10-hour shifts).

Working overnight offers a focused and collaborative environment where crews can work efficiently with minimal disruption. We value your time and commitment, which is why we keep a steady schedule and clear expectations.
