Skilled Veterinary Assistant

Cornell Center Animal Hospital is a Lakefield Veterinary Group clinic in Beaverton, Oregon. Cornell Center is looking to hire a skilled veterinary assistant to support our DVM team. We are a small team that prides ourselves in excellent patient care and client communication. The person joining our team will be an integral part of the daily workflow and morale of the clinic. Our perfect candidate is well organized and loves what they do. We love to teach and want everyone to continue to grow their skill set. It is important that candidates are willing to learn and be hands-on in their learning.

Important Job Tasks

• Time management and attention to detail.


• Monitoring, recording, and reporting physical signs of pets.


• Thorough client communication and education.


• Scribing and thorough medical documentation.


• SQ, IM, IV injections and IV catheter placement.


• Collecting blood, urine, skin, and fecal samples.


• Cytology including urine, gram stains, FNAs, manual blood counts, ear slides, etc.


• Gentle handling and fear free techniques with cats and dogs.


• Confident as part of a surgery/dental team. Monitor vitals while under anesthesia, trouble shoot anesthesia, recover pets, and perform dental radiographs/prophy.

Requirements
1+ years experience in anesthetic monitoring and client/patient care.

Pay range between $20.00 and $25.00 per hour depending on experience and certification.
