Sleep Lab Technician, FT (6:30Pm -7:00Am)

Summary Of Duties: Performs attended, sleep disorder testing. Gathers Patient information. Educates the patient on diagnostic equipment and overnight sleep study.

Educational Qualifications: High school diploma.

Experience/ Training: Knowledge of the specialized field of Polysomnography, EEG Technology, and Respiratory Care and working towards licensure.

Licenses: Variable.

Status and Scope: Reports to Department Manager of Sleep Facility.

Essential Job Duties:

• Develop weekly testing schedules.


• Prepare diagnostic equipment to perform the sleep studies.


• Acts and dresses in a professional manner, treats patients with courtesy.


• Gather patient information packets which include patient consent forms, pre sleep


• questionnaires, and technologist’s comments sheets.


• Set-up, instruct, and educate the patients on testing procedures.


• Answer any questions the patients may have.


• The technician shall be available to our patients throughout entire process.


• Retrieve the equipment, patient consent form, and post sleep questionnaires.


• Documents his/her report on the technologist comments sheet.
