Job Description - Sleep Technologist II (Registered)

Hourly Pay Range:

$26.61 - $39.92 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Sleep (Polysomnography) Technologist II (Registered)
  • Location: Skokie, IL
  • Full time/Part time: Full Time, 36 hours/week (Thursday/Friday/Saturday)
  • Hours: 8am - 8:30pm
  • Required Travel: Yes (floating to other locations)


What you will do:

  • Perform overnight polysomnography (PSG) studies, including electrode application and calibration.

  • Monitor patients during sleep studies and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the night.

  • Analyze sleep study data and prepare comprehensive reports for interpretation by a physician.

  • Educate patients on sleep hygiene and the importance of maintaining good sleep habits.

  • Assist in the implementation of treatment plans for sleep disorders, including continuous positive airway   pressure (CPAP) therapy.

  • Maintain accurate records of patient information and sleep study results.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

What you will need:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of the American Sleep Technologists Education Program (ASTEP).
  • License/Certification: Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) through the Board of Registered. Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or equivalent certification. CPR certification from the American Heart Association. Certification as Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) offered by The Board of Registry Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT). Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) credential by (BRPT). ASTEP certification by an accredited educational program
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a polysomnographic technologist.
