Slitter Operator

Description

Heidtman Steel Products is looking for 2nd  Shift Experienced Slitter Operators to join our team in Butler, IN.

Slitter Operators are responsible for operating slitter according to our SOP's. Operators will perform quality checks, observe slitting and rewinding operations, examine cuts for conformity and defects, and provide data entry into the computer system. Operators will be expected to lead by example, ensure set-ups are complete prior to each run, and maintain a clean and safe workplace.

Slitter Capabilities:

1/4" Pro Eco Flat Rolled Steel Slitter, with Roller levelers.

The line has 2 slitter heads with shimless tooling.

We process all grades of steel, including Advanced High Strength Steel.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should be computer literate in order to maintain associated production documents with high attention to detail. This is a physically demanding job which requires standing, bending, twisting, stooping and the ability to move up to 50 lbs.

2+ years of Slitter Operating experience (required)

2+ years of Steel Manufacturing experience (required)

Fork lift and overhead crane experience (preferred)

Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred NOT required)

Work authorization: United States (Required)
