Job Description:

* Senior Veterinary Technician positions provide technical assistance to clinicians, interns, residents, students, and other veterinary technicians in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The position is required to provide various types of clinical services while delivering quality patient care. Duties include but are not limited to providing demonstration and assistance in basic medical procedures to veterinary and veterinary technician students as well as provide information on fundamentals of physiology and disease processes. Senior Veterinary Technicians will assist Lead Veterinary Technicians in monitoring hospital inventory and supplies. Assignment to other areas of the hospital in need may be required, as well as holiday rotation and possible participation in on-call coverage.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience Needed:

* AAS in Veterinary Technology from AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology Program* No experience required

Skills Needed:

* Must become RVT in Indiana within 12 months of hire* Able to listen to and follow both verbal and written directions* Must possess good oral and written communication skills with the ability to read and write in English* Must possess knowledge level enough to explain and demonstrate routine veterinary medical concepts and procedures to aid in instruction of veterinary students, and veterinary technology students* Must complete Purdue Veterinary Technician Basic Skills List prior to promotion to Senior Veterinary Technician
