Small Boat Electrician

Position Summary:

Talent Source is seeking an experienced Small Boat Electrician to perform electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair on small boats and combatant craft in support of U.S. Government and military clients. This position involves working with various electrical systems and components to ensure safe and mission-ready marine operations.



Key Responsibilities:

• Install, inspect, and maintain low- and high-voltage marine electrical systems (AC/DC).


• Troubleshoot and repair power distribution, navigation, communication, and control systems.


• Electrical schematics, and technical manuals.


• Perform system upgrades and modifications per Boat Alterations (BoatAlts) and Liaison Action Requests (LARs).


• Conduct continuity tests, insulation resistance checks, and operational verifications.


• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and military specifications.

• Experience working on small boats or watercraft.


• Proficiency with multimeters, wiring tools, circuit testers, and diagnostic equipment.


• Ability to work independently or as part of an Alteration Installation Team (AIT).


• Strong understanding of marine grounding, bonding, and corrosion prevention practices.


• High school diploma or GED required; technical trade school or military training preferred.


• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance.

Salary Range: $58,000–$72,000 annually
