POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for serving food and drinks to our guests. In all interactions, the position is responsible for providing STAR Experience to guests and fellow team members a first priority.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Shooting Star Casino team members will always deliver excellent guest service to our guests and fellow co-workers.

Listens and responds to guests concerns to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Refers guest to the appropriate department or function for issue resolution.
- Excellent guest service.
- Provide a friendly atmosphere.
To provide excellent service to ensure our guest expectations are being met.
- Make sure orders are taken and delivered in a timely manner.
- Enter orders into Point of Sale (POS) system.
- 100.00 Bank from the vault to take care of guests at the table.
- Operate Point of Sale (cash register) system to record transactions, collect payment (credit cards, cash, room charges, tokens, marketing coupons, etc.) and make change correctly.
- Ensure proper cash handling techniques and balancing of monies during and at end of shift.
- Check to make sure the kitchen received your order.
- Bus and pre-bus tables.
- Check back with guests for any additional expectations you may receive.
- Orders taken in proper order of guest arrival.
Maintains and organizes area for daily operations.
- Ordering, restocking, setting up restaurant.
- Put freight in proper storage areas.
Maintaining sanitation regulations to provide a safe environment.
- Keep work areas clean (example) equipment, counters, tables, floors, condiment trays, etc.
- Wash hands frequently.
Performs all other duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
No minimum education or experience required, one month of experience preferred.
Ongoing and continuing education may be required of certain compact and non-compact positions. This will be outlined upon hire by the specific department. Alcohol awareness, safe food handling.
Certificates, Licenses & Designations
Must meet licensing requirements as prescribed by the Tribal State Compact for Gaming.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge of promotional programs offered by the casino.
- Knowledge to maintain a positive attitude under stressful situations.
- Skill of developing and maintaining positive relationships with external and internal guests.
- Skill of receiving a message and understanding the intended message and giving feedback to ensure guests expectations are met.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures of the Shooting Star Casinos.
- Ability to lift up to 25-30 lbs.
- Ability to bend, reach, hear, and to stand and walk for long periods of time 8 hours.
- Ability to know and learn menu items.
- Ability to communicate with Team Members.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Frequent loud to moderate noise level.
- Frequent warm and cold temperatures.
- Occasional exposure to blood borne pathogens.
- Frequent cross training in all areas.
- Frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals, solvents.
- Continuous exposure to high concentration levels of tobacco smoke.
