Smoothie King Multi-Unit Manager

Job Overview

We own a group of Smoothie King stores in several cities across Central Texas along the I-35 corridor, and we are growing them hard. Our stores are climbing and the plan to get them there is already running: sampling events, catering, and a food menu that is selling. We need the person who runs it all.

Some weeks you are on a blender line during a rush, some weeks you are three cities away opening a new store. If a day where no two hours look the same sounds exhausting, keep scrolling. If it sounds like fun, we should talk.

This is not a babysitting job. We had managers who kept the lights on. We want the person who runs our stores like they own them — because we pay them like they do.

How the pay works

Base pay: $55,000 a year plus benefits.

Bonus: Uncapped quarterly bonus tied directly to the profit growth you create across our stores.

People who hit our growth plan earn well above market, and as the stores you grow fund new stores, those get added to your formula too. If betting on yourself sounds like the best deal you have ever heard, keep reading. If you would rather have guaranteed raises, this is the wrong job — no hard feelings.

One thing to know before you apply

You cannot be in every store at once. The only way this job works — the only way you survive in it — is by finding and building a leader mindset in every team member so you can trust them to run a store when you are not standing in it. If you have never developed people you could hand the keys to, you will drown here, no matter how good you are yourself. If building leaders is the part of the job you love most, this is your job.

What you own

• The results at every store: sales, labor cost, product cost
• The energy. You are the cheerleader and motivator in chief. You set the culture of guest service and you make the work fun — for the teams and for every guest who walks in
• Your bench. Finding, training, and promoting leaders at every location — starting with the stores that need them today
• The growth work: sampling routes, community outreach, catering, store events
• Getting every guest a great experience and every add-on offered on every order — our best store's next $100K comes from doing the basics better, not from spending on ads
• A weekly numbers meeting with the owner. You bring the numbers and the plan.

Who does well here:

• You move fast, and you like it that way.
• You lead from the front, just as comfortable behind the counter in a Saturday rush or training a new hire as you are reading a spreadsheet and building next month's plan, and you do both every week.
• You have run more than one store, or one very busy store, and you can prove it with numbers.
• You have promoted people who went on to run things.
• Teams get faster and have more fun when you walk in the door. A slow store makes you restless by lunch.
• You're a problem solver. When something goes wrong, you usually have a fix in mind by the time you tell the owner.

Requirements

• 2+ years running food service operations where the profit was your responsibility
• You can name people you hired and trained who moved up
• Certified Food Manager, or able to get certified within 30 days
• A reliable car — our stores span several Central Texas cities along I-35, and you will be in all of them every week
