Snowmaking Crew Supervisor (Seasonal)

Job Status for Snow-making Crew Supervisor: Seasonal Full-time

Job Summary: Responsible for managing a team of snow-makers to ensure safe and efficient operation of the snow making system, including training staff, overseeing equipment and maintenance. The role requires strong leadership, communication and mechanical skills, along with a willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends in harsh weather conditions. 

Operations Management: Lead and coordinate snow making operations, set goals for shifts and ensure production targets are met.

Safety and Compliance: Ensure the team follows all safety policies and procedures, and compliance with company policies.

Problem-Solving: Address operational challenges and proactively identify areas for improvement in the snow making process.

Communication: Maintain effective communication with other departments and the Mountain Operations Manager.

Responsibilities: Include monitoring weather conditions, adjusting snow guns, and ensuring optimal snow quality and coverage on trails. Work closely with the Mountain Operation Manager and work closely with and alongside the Mountain Operations, Maintenance and all outdoor departments. Prepared to work long, continuous shifts during peak snow-making periods. Effectively provide support and assistance to coworkers and ensure team members are always working in a safe and productive manner.  Adherence to all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience: Prior snow making experience is required, with at least a year in a supervisory role.

Mechanical and Technical: Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of snow-making systems (pumps, compressors, etc.) are crucial. Proficiency in electrical systems, is preferred.

Physical Demands: Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods in extreme cold, wind, and snow. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be safety-conscious and able to work effectively under pressure.

Flexibility: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays, in all weather conditions.

Pay Type: Hourly

Employment: Seasonal with potential of being year round.
