Job Description - Social Care Worker - Children's Residential

Liquid Personnel is recruiting Social Care Worker for its client's Children's Residential Team based in Limerick, Ireland.


Our client is seeking a dedicated Social Care Worker to join a newly established service focused on providing a trauma‑informed model of care for young people aged 13 to 17. This role centres on creating a therapeutic environment built on positive relationships and healthy attachment.


As part of the care team, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive, trauma‑informed support. Responsibilities include direct work with young people, household tasks, administrative duties, teamwork, professional development, and ensuring consistent health and safety standards.

What will your responsibilities be?



  • Develop and Implement Care Plans: Contribute to creating and recording Care and Placement Plans

  • Advocate for Young People: Promote young people’s rights, needs, and responsibilities

  • Ensure Welfare: Support the physical, emotional, social, and cultural wellbeing of each young person

  • Encourage Participation: Support attendance at school, training, and health appointments

  • Support Personal Affairs: Assist with personal documents, arrangements, and financial management

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with families, carers, and relevant external agencies

  • Attend Relevant Meetings: Participate in planning and review meetings

  • Engage in Activities: Take part in age‑appropriate activities and play

  • Physical Interventions: Carry out approved physical interventions when necessary in line with policy

  • Promote Decision‑Making: Encourage young people to participate in decisions that affect them

  • Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare balanced, nutritious meals with young people

  • Home Management: Support the upkeep of the home, budgeting, and general household duties

  • Reporting: Attend team meetings and report to the relevant team leader or manager

  • Safeguarding: Follow safeguarding procedures and act as a designated safeguarding officer when required

  • Stay Informed: Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation, standards, and best practice

  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities

  • Policy Adherence: Comply with organisational policies, procedures, and professional guidelines

  • Regulatory Standards: Work in line with national residential care standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Experience:


To be successful in this role you must have, 



  • Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the appropriate professional Social Care regulatory body

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship‑building skills

  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development
