Job Description - Social Media & Administrative Support Specialist

Description

Position Summary

  • The Social Media & Administrative Support Specialist plays a key role in enhancing YWCA’s online presence while also providing crucial administrative support to ensure the organization’s smooth daily operations. This position requires a creative, detail-oriented, and organized professional who excels in digital engagement and office management.

Key Responsibilities


Social Media & Communications (50%)

  • Develop and manage content for YWCA’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and TikTok.
  • Monitor social media trends and engage with followers to foster a strong online community.
  • Create graphics, videos, and other multimedia content using Canva or similar tools.
  • Create a monthly newsletter for the email list using Emma Email Marketing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to promote events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Track and analyze social media metrics to measure success and inform strategy.

Administrative Support (50%)

  • Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing emails, and maintaining records.
  • Assist with event planning, logistics, and coordination.
  • Support volunteer recruiting, scheduling, and communication.
  • Maintain donor database and assist with thank you cards and outreach.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials as needed.
  • Maintain office supplies and assist with basic operational needs.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of experience in social media management and/or administrative support.
  • Strong writing and content creation skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and analytics tools.
  • Experience with Canva, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
