The Role


We're looking for a Social Media Marketing Lead (or Sr. Manager) to own and evolve the social presence for both Wag! and Maxbone. This is a senior individual contributor role where you'll set the strategy, drive execution, and be the internal expert and voice of social across both brands. You'll be fluent in both mass-market consumer social and premium lifestyle brand social, knowing how to shift voice, aesthetic, and strategy to serve multiple audiences without losing coherence.



What You'll Do



  • Own the end-to-end social media strategy for Wag! and Maxbone across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms

  • Develop distinct brand voices and content pillars for each brand that drive engagement, community growth, and conversion

  • Partner with Brand, Growth, Product, and Creative to integrate social into campaigns, product launches, and brand moments

  • Build and own the content calendar, ensuring a consistent publishing cadence across both brands

  • Define and track KPIs: follower growth, engagement rate, reach, UGC, share of voice, and social-attributed revenue

  • Manage influencer and creator partnerships end-to-end: identification, outreach, briefing, and performance reporting

  • Stay ahead of platform trends and algorithm shifts, bringing new formats and opportunities to the team proactively

  • Oversee paid social strategy in partnership with the performance marketing team

  • Report monthly to senior leadership on social performance, competitive landscape, and strategic recommendations



What We're Looking For



  • 4-8 years of social media marketing experience

  • Proven track record of growing brand social accounts with measurable business impact

  • Experience managing social for multiple brands or distinct audiences simultaneously -- consumer + lifestyle or B2C + premium is a plus

  • Deep platform expertise across Instagram, TikTok, and at least two other channels

  • Strong creative eye -- you can write compelling copy, brief creative effectively, and know what stops the scroll

  • Data fluency: comfortable in native analytics and systems such as Sprout Social / Dash Hudson / similar tools, and building performance reports

  • Experience running influencer programs at scale, including negotiation and contracts

  • Excellent cross-functional communicator -- you can work with the leadership team and a video editor with equal ease

  • Passion for pets is a genuine plus; we're a pet-obsessed company



Nice to Have



  • Experience at a consumer marketplace or two-sided platform, or experience with pet wellness and consumables

  • Background in fashion, lifestyle, or premium consumer goods

  • Working knowledge of paid social (Meta Ads, TikTok Ads)

  • Experience with UGC programs and community-led growth
