Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Team Lead Assistant to oversee a team of moderators responsible for managing user-generated content across our social media platforms. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of social media trends, and the ability to enforce community guidelines while fostering a positive online environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Help the Team Lead train and support a team of social media comment moderators.
- Moderation & Content Oversight:
- Review and moderate user-generated content (comments, replies, messages) based on community guidelines.
- Ensure timely and consistent enforcement of platform policies, removing harmful or inappropriate content.
- Handle escalations in the Pending folder, resolving sensitive or complex moderation issues. You will need to be willing to seek out information.
- Create and manage resources of information for the comment moderation team (help center articles, saved replies, etc.)
- Work closely with internal teams (marketing, PR, legal) to align moderation strategies with company policies. Attend meetings as assigned by Team Lead.
- Crisis & Reputation Management
- :Respond quickly to trending issues, misinformation, and potential PR risks.
- Collaborate with the Team Lead to manage crisis situations.
- Assist the Team Lead with implementing and refining moderation strategies to safeguard brand reputation.
Requirements
- Experience: Solid understanding of content moderation, social media, or a similar role; with a good understanding of leadership responsibilities.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Reddit, etc.).
- Ability to analyze data and identify trends in user interactions.
- Comfortable handling sensitive or potentially offensive content.
- Proficiency in using moderation tools and AI-assisted moderation platforms.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, Marketing, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Availability: Flexible to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
$16 - $18 an hour
Commensurate with experience and scope of responsibility.
