Job Description - Social Worker


Job title: Social Worker
Location: 50 Irving St NW, Washington, DC 20422
Schedule: 40 hour per week, with schedule (tour of duty) between 7am and 6pm.
Qualifications:
  • Licensed master’s level social worker with a minimum of 2 years’ experience providing case management to veterans with a HUD VASH voucher.
  • A valid driver’s license.
Duties:
  • Conduct initial screenings and assessments to determine the eligibility and suitability of Veterans for the HUD-VASH program.
  • Perform thorough evaluations to understand the individual needs, challenges, and goals of each Veteran to tailor case management services accordingly.
  • Connect Veterans with necessary medical, mental health, and social services either individually or through group sessions.
  • Assist Veterans in navigating the process of obtaining housing vouchers from Public Housing Authorities.
  • Conduct regular home visits to monitor housing stability, assess social well-being, and facilitate access to necessary resources and support services.
  • Offer financial management and skills development training to enhance Veterans' abilities to maintain stable housing and self-sufficiency.
