Position Summary:

Marian Central is seeking a passionate and dependable Assistant Softball Coach to support the high school softball program. The assistant coach will work closely with the head coach to instruct student-athletes in skills, strategy, and character development, while promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and conducting      practices, drills, and workouts.
• Provide      instruction in specific skill areas (e.g., hitting, fielding, pitching,      catching).
• Support      in developing game strategies and player development plans.
• Supervise      athletes at all practices, games, and team-related events.
• Help      with lineup preparation, game day duties, and in-game decision-making.
• Foster      sportsmanship, team cohesion, and academic accountability.
• Communicate      effectively with players, families, and school staff.
• Assist      with equipment management, field setup, and maintenance.
• Ensure      all team activities follow school, conference, and state athletic rules.

 Qualifications:

• Prior softball playing or coaching      experience preferred
• Strong      understanding of game fundamentals, rules, and safety protocols
• Excellent      communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Must      meet district coaching requirements (CPR, First Aid, Concussion Training,      etc.)
• Ability      to pass a background check
• Willingness      to attend practices, games, and off-season activities as needed
