The Software Analyst will be responsible for performing all necessary project requirements gathering to develop and present technical and innovative solutions for the organization. The ideal candidate must have experience working with multiple payer sources, including Medicaid and commercial insurances, in all aspects of the billing and claim process. The Software Analyst will keep abreast of payer trends and issues negatively impacting timely and accurate reimbursement. All tasks must be performed in a timely and precise manner in accordance with government rules and regulations, including Medicaid, and organizational practices, policies, and procedures. The Software Analyst will assist with Tier 2 and Tier 3 level system tickets and be the primary escalation point for billing system issues reported. In this role, the Software Analyst must demonstrate leadership in working with program and administrative staff to achieve aforementioned goals, be successful in fostering teamwork, and demonstrate commitment to the ongoing pursuit of excellence in IT service quality.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed and thorough system analysis and requirements gathering for all areas of the organization as they pertain to various projects and organizational goalsOutline and document project milestones, timelines, budgets, and deliverables through the means of provided project management tools, documents, and materialsAdhere to the IT Change Management process as defined by Change Requests; submissions and approvalsAssign project related tasks to project team members with achievable and well aligned completion datesPerform regular and frequent follow through to ensure successful and timely implementationsConduct risk analysis and mitigation planningProvide Tier 2 and Tier 3 level application support, serving as the point of contact for issue escalationsAssist in identifying areas of concern or deficiencies within the organization’s solutions and propose system improvements and enhancementsSolid understanding of EHR processes and workflow.Troubleshoot any payer or provider issues negatively impacting reimbursement and promptly communicate with Billing Team to resolve them.Leading teams to implement, configure, test, maintain and upgrade systemsServes as a key onsite IT resource for facility implementation and support of a broad set of clinical and financial applicationsWorks with the Billing Team to lead, troubleshoot, monitor, and facilitate new module/application testing, develop training materials and deliver hands-on training as neededPerform ongoing analysis of departmental needs and make recommendations for efficient use of applicationsAnalyze, solve, and correct issues in real timeTeam player with the ability to multi-task, work independently, and work under pressureProviding prompt support to the organization usersPromotes system security and patient confidentiality and helps ensure complianceMay develop clinical and financial application reports as neededCommunicates the resolution of tickets to users with a high degree of ownership to ensure the issue was resolved and closes tickets upon confirmationKnowledge of Medicare/Medicaid, Managed Care and private payers and familiarity with patient scheduling and revenue cycle principlesExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of personnelStrong analytical, and problem-solving skillsComfortable making suggestions that can improve existing process and reportingPreferred experience administering and billing with EHR systems such as Carelogic, Evolv, or similar.Preferred ability to design and create summary and detail level reports for management; carry out ad hoc reporting using SQL, SSRS, Power BI, MS Access, or similar softwarePerform other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:
Associates degree with a minimum of two (2) years' medical, behavioral, or physician's private practice experience desired. (Increased billing experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.)Strong attention to detail and have effective communication skillsStrong background in troubleshooting insurance denials and collecting accounts receivable with the Billing Team.Preferred knowledge in behavioral health or social services related field and/or the information technology field performing administrative, technical support, application support, data collection, and system analysis and design.Must be willing to travel on occasion.Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills required.Must have a solid understanding of project management concepts, practices, and methodologies.Working knowledge of how system solutions apply to HIPAA standards and regulations to all areas of work.Ability to collaborate with business users, clinicians, operational business owners, and technical staff members and others to develop thorough needs assessments and requirements gathering that lead to successful designs, developments, and implementations.Has a strong sense of customer service. Experience consistently and effectively addressing customer needs.Is comfortable interacting with peers and colleagues at various levels of the Organization and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
