Software Application Engineer II

General Position Overview 

The Software Application Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of Customer-facing desktop applications used to configure hardware. (WPF, MVVM, .NET8, C#) 

Essential Job Functions 

• Demonstrates SoundOff Signal’s Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers. 
• Design, develop, and maintain user-friendly WPF applications. 
• Utilize Entity Framework for data persistence and interaction with databases. 
• Implement the MVVM design pattern to separate concerns and ensure code maintainability. 
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented C# code to SoundOff Signal’s quality standard. 
• Collaborate with other developers, engineers, product management and other teams to bring product visions to life. 
• Unit test code to ensure quality and reliability. 
• Troubleshoot and debug complex application issues efficiently.  
• Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements 

• Bachelor of Science degree in CS, CE or CIS. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 
• 5+ years of experience 
• Strong proficiency in C# and .NET Framework/Core. 
• Solid understanding of WPF, XAML, and hardware communication protocols. 
• Experience with MVVM design pattern. 
• Experience with Entity Framework for data access. 
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 
• Experience with Git version control. 
• Experience with Jira. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Proficiency of the basic Microsoft software packages including Word and Excel. 
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 

Physical Requirements 

• Able to lift up to 35 lbs.  
• Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift. 
• Must be able to handle and work with small parts. 

Working Conditions 

• Mostly office environment, occasional light manufacturing environment. 
• Fast-paced, team-oriented environment. 
• Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting. 
• Some level of domestic and/or international travel may be required 
• May work remotely 
• Mostly normal business hours with occasional need to flex hours
