Key job responsibilities
You’ll be a good fit for this role if you can lead the development of technically ambiguous projects, own mission critical code, work with open-source projects, and think big. If you’re excited about improving developers’ lives, being a force-multiplier for large numbers of service teams, and want to lead from the cutting-edge, this is the team for you. You’ll solve challenging problems on a daily basis helping to positively impact the QuickSight product. You'll also be responsible for the following:
- Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture/design/working software solutions.
- Code and test system components; participate in code and design reviews.
- Demonstrate ownership of end-to-end code quality, system tests, functional tests, and integration.
- Partner/Collaborate across teams/roles to deliver results.
- Be responsible for overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Bellevue, WA, USA
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
