Automation Software Engineer Requirements:**At least 3 years experience in the specific role but may have some general working experienceExperience developing multiple types/categories of software including end-user applications and operating systems/utility softwareExperience in Automation Software EngineeringNeed to be proficient in programming languages like Python, Java, C/C++, LabView, and MATLABCommunication skills - Need to be able to clearly communicate test results, testing requirements, and defects to stakeholders, developers, and testerAttention to detail - Need to be able to tolerate a lot of trial and error to perfect a systemAnalytical skills: Need to be able to analyze products properly during the software testing processesNeed to be able to establish quality assurance processes and monitoring, troubleshooting automated processes, and identify new automation opportunities
The work includes: Conducting requirements gathering and analysis to understand the domain of the software problem and/or functionality, the interfaces between hardware and software, and the overall software characteristicsUsing programming, scripting, and/or database languages to write the software codeSupporting software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding software enhancementsApplying knowledge of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Key Responsibilities: Designs, develops, and maintain software applications for controlling electromechanical automated testers and systemsGaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function
