Software Engineer - Android

THE POSITION: Software Engineer (Android)

Reporting to the Android Lead, this role will be responsible for the execution of planned sprints. He/she must have a growth mindset with the passion for building things and delivering beautiful code to be proud of. 

The ideal candidate is a team player and someone who is a hands-on engineer, enjoys working side by side with the other technology teams to solve tough & ambiguous problems, possess excellent communication, sharp analytical abilities, and are able to think critically of the current system in terms of growth and stability.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, demonstrating your understanding of fundamental programming principles.


• Gain valuable experience working on various features within our Android app, learning from and actively seeking mentorship from team members


• Participate in maintaining existing features and contributing to continuous improvement efforts, ensuring app stability and robustness


• Collaborate on implementing new features within planned sprints, contributing your fresh perspective and innovative ideas to the development process


• Foster a collaborative environment by sharing your knowledge and actively learning from your peers, promoting an atmosphere of knowledge exchange


• Contribute to efficient development processes by understanding and supporting CI/CD pipelines and release management procedures

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or other related Degrees


• 2+ years of experience building Android apps with a strong foundation in Kotlin


• Familiarity with key Android development tools and libraries (e.g., Kotlin Coroutines, Clean Architecture, MVVM, Dagger 2/Dagger Android, Retrofit 2, Play Feature Delivery, Jetpack libraries)


• Understanding of the app development lifecycle, from design to deployment


• Basic knowledge of  CI/CD tools like CircleCI and GitHub Actions


• Familiarity with Git


• Attention to detail and a commitment to writing clean and well-documented code.


• Passion for learning and a willingness to explore new technologies and best practices especially in the area of  Android design principles and third-party libraries


• Background in working in agile engineering processes and teams is a plus


• Approach challenges with a can-do attitude, seeking solutions through research, collaboration, and critical thinking.


• A team player with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback by working in a transparent and modern engineering culture, and not being afraid to challenge the status quo


• Good English communication skills, sharp analytical abilities, and a critical thinking mindset focused on growth and stability
