As a Software Engineer on theTesla Energy system controls team, you will work on software that controlslarge scale Tesla Megapack renewable energy deployments. You will workalongside expert controls engineers to implement innovative controls to make thetransition to renewable energy possible. The system controls application iswritten in Rust, runs on a Linux device in the field, and communicates withother applications that are written in Golang and C/C++.

You will workalongside expert controls engineers to implement innovative controls to make thetransition to renewable energy possible. The system controls application iswritten in Rust, runs on a Linux device in the field, and communicates withother applications that are written in Golang and C/C++.
What You’ll Do

Develop real-time controlsapplication in Rust for controlling large scale renewable deployments (battery,solar, wind)
Integrationof controls application to work with the Tesla Megapack system
Collaborateon developing communications interfaces between devices in our industrialenergy storage systems
What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s Degree in ComputerEngineering, Electrical Engineering, proof of exceptional skills in relatedfields with practical software engineering experience
Lowlevel systems programming experience and good understanding of embedded systemsand OS concepts (Linux/RTOS)
Goodunderstanding of networking concepts (Ethernet, TCP/IP, etc.)
Familiaritywith electronics, feedback control systems, and power systems
Familiaritywith embedded interfaces (UART, I2C, I2S, SPI, CAN, PCIe, etc.) is a plus
Experiencein working with binary communication protocols (protobuf or other protocols)
Desired:Experience in programming in Rust

Expected Compensation
$104,000 - $348,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
