We are seeking a Software Engineer I - Lab in our Broomfield, CO location to develop lab supervisory control and real-time program execution software. You will design, test, integrate, and support software used in engineering laboratory environments while collaborating with software leads and cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain lab control, data acquisition, and/or real-time embedded software
- Integrate software with laboratory hardware, sensors, controllers, and related systems
- Develop unit tests and support integration through CI/CD toolchains
- Collaborating with software leads to defining requirements and executing core projects
- Debug, profile, document, and support deployed software
- Contribute to code reviews and continuous improvement of development practices
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree minimum
- 2+ years of experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Quantum Information Science, or a related technical field
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE:
- Experience integrating hardware and software in engineering laboratory environments
- Experience developing software that visualizes and interfaces with laboratory equipment, sensors, or controllers
- Experience with quantum circuits, quantum algorithms, or trapped ion quantum computers
- Familiarity with Docker, Jenkins, and CI/CD workflows
- Experience with real-time or embedded software
- Experience with relational or key/value databases
- Interest in compilers and technologies such as LLVM
- Interest in quantum circuits, circuit optimization, or quantum algorithms
- Enthusiasm for supporting deployed software and responding to user feedback
- Strong problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills
Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this role is $88,000 – $110,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate's skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
