This position is located onsite on our Colorado Springs campus.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Software Engineer to support our Software Controls Engineering (SCE) team in their development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of satellite ground software.\n\nWhat You\u2019ll Have an Opportunity to Do: \n\nFull stack development at the OS, platform, and mission unique software layer\n\nDeveloping client and server applications and services using service-oriented architectures, message bus-based data exchange that include first-of-a-kind capabilities.\n\nApplications will span languages and toolsets including C++, Python, Postgres, Ansible, cloud infrastructure provisioning, PKI, and static code analysis execution and finding remediation.\n\nDeveloper will be expected to be a self-starter capable of making decisions with overall project budget and schedule in mind.\n\nDevelop software which provides command and control functionality of a hardware system (sending commands, receiving acknowledgements, working on and integrating across interfaces)\n\nDevelop software which enables activity planning and constraint checking to achieve mission outcomes.\n\nDevelop software which enables the visualization of a complex and dynamic environment in both two and 3 dimensions, complete with decisions tools, intelligent context, and user-centric interface design.\n\nRun training and simulation events and solve technical issues as they arise in real time.\n\nEngage with customers in training events and customer interactions. \n\nBasic Qualifications\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s Degree with 2 years of development experience (0 years with a Master\u2019s Degree) with Python and C++. Experience can be considered in lieu of degree (additional 4 years of experience)\n\n * Must have a TS Clearance at time of application and be eligible to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI/SAP \n\n * Familiarity with Agile programs including Agile DevOps\n\n * Familiarity with the design, build, and deployment of software products\n\n * Familiarity in producing software architecture documentation\n\n * Familiarity with Python, C++ and Docker/Kubernetes \n\n * US Citizenship\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\n * Experience developing satellite ground software with any of the following applications for spacecraft missions is highly preferred: Command and Control, Mission Planning, Visualization, and/or Astrodynamics.\n\n * Experience with the creation and use of spacecraft command and control system utilizing cryptographic equipment and a combination of government and/or commercial communications paths.\n\n * Experience with the creation and use of planning software and constraint checking applications utilized in complex and dynamic space mission planning.\n\n * Experience with the creation and implementation of visualization tools for space missions, including dynamic renderings of space vehicles, depiction of space vehicle missions, simulation of space vehicle sensor and mission outputs, and configuration displays of complex contextual and situational awareness information.\n\n * Linux, Ansible, Docker, Graphics and Animation, UI/UX experience\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
