## The group you\u2019ll be a part of\n\nThe Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.\n\n## The impact you\u2019ll make\n\nAs a Software Engineer at Lam, you will be at the forefront of innovation by designing, developing, and troubleshooting, and debugging software programs. Your role is pivotal in developing software tools that support design, infrastructure, and technology platforms. Your expertise will determine hardware compatibility and influence design, ensuring seamless integration between software and hardware.\n\nIn this role, you\u2019ll make an impact across Lam\u2019s entire product portfolio of equipment working within our centralized software engineering team, collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do\n\n * Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products.\n * Implement new customer requirements and features in our existing application.\n * Maintain existing code base by investigating and resolving problem areas.\n * Demonstrate solutions through clear documentation, flowcharts, and well-structured code.\n * Collaborate with cross functional teams to design and develop software programs.\n * May visit customer site to provide support and have ability to travel (total is less than 10%).\n\n\n\n## Who we\u2019re looking for\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in computer science or a related field, with no experience required.\n * Excellent knowledge of Java or Python programming languages.\n * Knowledge of C++, C#, and Scala is a plus.\n * Deep understanding of algorithms and data structures.\n * Understanding of RDBMS systems and SQL queries.\n * Understanding of APIs and technologies like REST, JSON, and XML.\n * Understanding of Spring Boot and Spring Batch is a plus.\n * Familiarity with distributed systems, big data, and large-scale systems is a plus.\n * Rigor in high-quality code, automated testing, and other engineering best practices; ability to write reusable code components.\n * Willingness to constantly learn and grow.\n * Excellent verbal and written skills.\n * Team player mindset.\n\n\n\n## Our commitment\n\nWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories \u2013 On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. \u2018On-site Flex\u2019 you\u2019ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. \u2018Virtual Flex\u2019 you\u2019ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.\n\n#LI-LE1 \n\nSalary\n\nCA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $86,000.00 - $159,000.00.\n\nThe above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.
