As the Software Test Engineer in RAD, you will play a critical role in developing and performing software testing for our groundbreaking robotic surgical platform. In this role, you will design and develop test cases and protocols to verify software functionality, using numerous testing methods including functional, integration, and system testing. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, diligent, detailed oriented, and can work independently and function well within in a team.

What You'll Do:
Work closely with development teams to test new features, identify defects, and address issues found.
Install software on robotic platform and perform testing on release candidate builds.
Conduct feature ad hoc and exploratory testing during the development test cycle along with bug verification.
Participate in technical design reviews of requirements, specifications, and test protocols.
Author, maintain, and execute test protocols against subsystem specifications to confirm intended design performance.
Automate test cases using in-house developed test software and scripts in conjunction with manual test execution.
Required Education:
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
Required Skills & Experience:
2 years of hands-on software testing experience preferably with complex medical devices.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Batch, Bash, and Linux commands.
Knowledge of Linux operating system.
Experience with automated GUI testing tools.
Experience with JIRA or any similar defect tracking tool.
Experience with JAMA or similar requirements management tools.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, and analytical skills.
Other Requirements:
Ability to travel up to 10% domestic US and Internationally, with overnight stay.
Ability to work in Santa Clara, CA.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience working with software, firmware, and hardware.
Experience testing software for complex electro-mechanical or robotics systems.
Experience with medical device industry or other regulated industry.
Experience with networking tools for troubleshooting issues related to data transfer and performance across a network.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a laboratory/assembly environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
Physical Demands:
May require lifting of up to 50 lbs. and operation of hoisting equipment for heavier loads.
May require prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, and kneeling during system assembly.
The anticipated salary range for this position in the Santa Clara, CA area is $101,000 to $162,725.
