As a Soil Laundry Sorter, you'll play a crucial role in the initial phase of our laundry process. You'll be responsible for sorting soiled garments and linens, ensuring they are properly categorized for processing. Your attention to detail, efficiency, and physical stamina will contribute to the smooth operation of our laundry facility.
What You'll Do:
- Sort soiled garments and linens according to color, fabric type, and laundering requirements.
- Inspect items for stains, tears, or damage, and separate them for special treatment or repairs.
- Operate sorting equipment efficiently and safely.
- Prepare and transfer counted soil items through the industrial washing and drying process.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sorting areas.
- Assist with other tasks as needed to support the laundry process.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Highly reliable work performance record.
- Reliable transportation to report to work as scheduled.
- Must meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing for 10 hours per day, bending, twisting, squatting, repetitive hand motions such as grasping, and lifting a minimum of 15lbs.
- Perform all assigned duties in a safe fashion and in accordance with OSHA standards and directives.
- Report any unsafe conditions or practices to management promptly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
