Survey Instrument Technician
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Survey Instrument Technician to join our team. This role is essential in supporting our surveying projects by ensuring the proper calibration, maintenance, and operation of survey instruments. Key Responsibilities:
- Calibrate, maintain, and repair survey instruments such as total stations, GPS equipment, levels, and theodolites
- Assist surveyors in setting up and operating survey instruments in the field
- Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and complies with safety and quality standards
- Record and document calibration and maintenance activities
- Support data collection efforts by preparing and troubleshooting survey instruments
- Maintain inventory of survey equipment and ensure proper storage and handling
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience with survey instruments and equipment
- Strong technical and mechanical skills related to calibration and maintenance
- Knowledge of surveying principles and practices
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and calibration procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to field sites as needed
JOB QUALIFICATION:
At least 1 years of experience working in the industrial construction field with layout or survey responsibilities. Must
have a developing knowledge of layout and survey work using mathematics to solve problems by adding and
subtracting, multiplication and dividing and perform these operations using units of measurement for distance and
have a general understanding of algebra, trigonometry, and geometry, and be able to verify mathematical
calculations for gathering physical survey data, document technical design details, analyze physical, survey, or
geographic data, survey land to measure or determine features, determine operational criteria or specifications,
calibrate scientific or technical equipment, calculate geographic positions from survey data. Ability to
understand and follow directions. Must be at least 18 years of age.
