## The group you\u2019ll be a part of\n\n \n\nThe Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.\n\n \n\n## The impact you\u2019ll make\n\nAs a Solution Architect at Lam, you will be at the forefront of innovation by designing, developing, and troubleshooting, and debugging software programs. Your role is pivotal in developing software tools that support design, infrastructure, and technology platforms. Your expertise will determine hardware compatibility and influence design, ensuring seamless integration between software and hardware.\n\nIn this role, you\u2019ll make an impact across Lam\u2019s entire product portfolio of equipment working within our centralized software engineering team, collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry.\n\nThe successful candidate will be a technical team leader supporting multiple programs reporting to the Engineering Director. Candidate will work with multiple teams of full time and consultant developers and QA engineers to develop a set of systems utilizing technologies related to mobile device UI, data transfer services, back-end software infrastructure, a reporting and analytics engine, and various parsers. Candidate will own the system design from initial implementation through long-term sustaining ownership, release, and will be responsible for keeping the applications current with periodic releases.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do\n\n * Demonstrate, clearly communicate, and present solutions through clear documentation, flowcharts, and well-structured code.\n * Drive systems design and development across multiple teams to create and maintain a holistic set of systems\n * Demonstrated ability to work \u0026 lead in an agile perspective for all SW development \u0026 commit to fast release schedule\n * Must be able to lead and work effectively in small to medium sized teams (\u003c10 core team individuals)\u003e\n * Conduct regular code reviews \u0026 provide assurance that all modules fit to proposed architecture \u0026 meet rigorous code review standards\n * Familiarity with and ability to implement test-driven-development methodologies\n * Commitment to long-term sustaining application ownership\n * Ability to conduct R\u0026D and PoC\u2019s\n * Takes ownership of and ability to delegate assigned tasks with responsibilities.\n * Institutes and participates in corrective actions to ensure closure / resolution.\n * Provide technical guidance and mentoring for more junior engineers.\n * May visit customer site to provide support and have ability to travel (total is less than 10%).\n\n\n\n## Who we\u2019re looking for\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering with 12+ years of experience; or Master\u2019s degree with 8+ years\u2019 experience; or a PhD with 5+ years\u2019 experience; or equivalent experience.\n * Knowledge of Object-Oriented Software (OOS), Object Oriented Design (OOD), or Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) implementation and design, including Design Patterns and Finite State Machines.\n * \u003e5 years leading system design on multiple development teams\n * \u003e8 years\u2019 experience in systems design and development\n * 3-5 years of experience in SQL/No-SQL (MongoDB or SQL Server or MySQL)\n * Strong communication and presentation skills required.\n * Azure DevOps \u0026 JIRA experience required\n * Knowledge of multithreading, including preemptive thread scheduling.\n\n\n\n## Preferred qualifications\n\n * Experience in scripting is plus (PowerShell or similar)\n * Able to provide examples of systems designed/developed\n\n\n\n## Our commitment\n\n \n\nWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories \u2013 On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. \u2018On-site Flex\u2019 you\u2019ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. \u2018Virtual Flex\u2019 you\u2019ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.\n\nSalary\n\nCA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $141,000.00 - $307,000.00.\n\nThe above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.
