Solution Engineer

Position Title: Solution Engineer

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/ Week

Summary of Duties: Review customer specifications, commercial/technical documents, and product requirements for key customer projects. Develop a project execution plan and cost the plan per the Customer RFP documents. Work within teams and product groups, internal and external. Support process improvements, visibility, transparency, and accuracy wherever possible. Support the bidding as well as the execution process. Site walkdown support for Pre sales and product specific request. Participate in FATs with third party vendors. Ensure solutions meet quality standards, scalability, and performance requirements. Update solution designs with latest industry standards. Perform electrical studies using software (i.e. SKP, ETAP, PSS/ E, etc). Collaborate with sales and application engineering during pre-sales activities (estimates, technical discussions, presentations). Perform specific technical project management tasks. Manage drawing submittals for different products. Approximately 25% domestic and international travel. Hybrid work permitted.

Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, Project Engineer, Mechanical/Application Engineer, or an acceptable alternate occupation. The position requires experience with the following: understanding of electrical power networks (low voltage and medium voltage); experience with NEC Code; experience with IBC code; knowledge of Siemens products or equivalent (e.g. MV switchgear, LV Switchgear, VFDs, Low Voltage MCCs, Transformer, Buildings etc.).
