In one sentence

Overall responsibility for one or more large-scale activities. Responsibility includes building and leading the unit's strategy and roadmap to achieve organizational, business, operational and delivery goals as well as end to-end management of the unit engagements, including the professional, financial and HR aspects. Defines and oversees the yearly plans and targets of the one or more units. Ensures excellent customer relationship, and collaboration and synergy between teams to achieve the unit strategy and objectives.

What will your job look like?

• Unit Leadership - Establish the vision, strategy, and direction in line with the unit strategy and investment direction. Develop and implement the annual operation plan (AOP) engaging the team to drive the vision. Create a progressive environment that embraces change and perceives challenges as opportunities; drive for group motivation and lead changes that are essential for the achievement of long-term goals. Promote clarity and alignment by communicating effectively to the unit and all the relevant interfaces, while taking into consideration cross-cultural aspects
• Personnel Leadership - Coach and mentor managers and empower them to lead their own projects and employees. Attract, develop, and retain talent in the unit, to ensure that people with the right skills and motivations to meet business needs are in the right place at the right time. Create an engaging environment and build a sense of pride among personnel. Set individual goals, performance, and growth of the unit management team. Encourage/reward cooperation between unit teams, encourage innovative pursuit of finding ways to achieve goals and supports qualified risk taking.
• Operation Excellence - Establish set of professional services processes and programs. Constantly help the unit meet its KPIs, for example QSBT (Quality, Scope, Budget, and Timeline). Continuously improve units’ knowledge and performance. Facilitate decision-making, issue resolution and consensus among the team members and peers. Establish learning and innovation culture. Take responsibility for development of services and management tools, methodologies, standards, and best practices, to support unit efficiency and productivity. Review unit TCO and drive cost efficiency.
• Project Management - Maintain an overall view of the projects handled by the unit and manage their priorities. Audit and follow up on the overall plan, status, strategy, risks and conflicts within his/her domain. Proactively perform deep dive for critical points and major milestones. Ensure optimal allocation of personnel (based on cost and knowledge) in projects, according to need, while ensuring flexibility. Be the escalation point and the trusted advisor for the stakeholders; strive to create win-win situation.
• Quality Focus - Oversee unit-wide quality metrics, best practices and coding patterns and provide deep expertise on the services strategy and strategy implementation. Use deep technology expertise and market best practices to enable teams to deliver quality solution, maintaining simplicity and reuse.

All you need is....

• Minimum 10 years’ experience, out of which minimum 3 years’ experience leading product implementation projects (at least 10-15 people)
• 10+ years of technical IBM Mainframe experience working on project/program management that aligns with the responsibilities of the position
• 3-5 years working in mainframe modernization to the cloud
• 2-5 Years working with AWS or Azure cloud environments
• Experience in stakeholder/ client management
• In depth knowledge of Astadia business and products
• Solid knowledge of Legacy systems, programs, software, and environments
• Proven experience of development of services methodologies, principles, procedures and tools
• Ability to assess and analyze the complexity of the technical design and guide the teams
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills working with Partners, C-Level Executives, and SI’s
