Job Description - Solutions Engineer

Your Impact


This is a post-sale, advanced solutions architecture and design validation, front-line role with primary duties of preparing field team for the deployment of network, hardware, and software for Axon “Fleet“ solutions


What You’ll Do 


Location: US based Axon hub sites (Atlanta, Boston, Denver, San Francisco, Scottsdale, or Seattle metro areas), Travel 10%
Reports to: Sr. Technical Project Manager



  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of multiple software and hardware implementation projects for Axon Fleet products, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.

  • Collaborate with clients, including Chiefs of Police, Command Staff, Sheriffs, Directors of IT, and program managers, to coordinate complex deployments and provide strategic technical guidance.

  • Create and maintain detailed network diagrams, deployment documentation, and project reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity for design, planning, and post-deployment support.

  • Configure, stage, and validate proof-of-concept and bench equipment, handling escalated technical issues with minimal supervision.

  • Provide advanced technical leadership for network and hardware installations, including APN, LTE, MPLS, LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN design and implementation.

  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to optimize deployment workflows and enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting and resolving complex technical challenges.

  • Mentor and support junior technical project managers and field deployment engineers to build team capability and technical knowledge.

  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, balancing scope, resources, and timelines efficiently.


What You Bring



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3-5 years of experience in technical project management, with a proven track record in managing network deployment projects within law enforcement, public safety, or government environments.

  • Strong knowledge of 12v DC circuit theory and ability to read and interpret electrical and network diagrams.

  • Advanced understanding of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, data transfer, and communication technologies including APN, LTE, MPLS, LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN.

  • Demonstrated ability in managing complex network implementations, including Layer 1, 2, and 3 configurations.

  • Proficient in Windows-based operating systems installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, facilitation, organizational, and follow-up skills with attention to detail.

  • Experience in mentoring and guiding team members in technical and project management practices.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
