Solutions Engineer Linux Systems

Job Purpose:

As a Solution Engineer specializing in Linux systems, you will design, integrate, and support Linux-based maritime solutions. You will work independently on well-defined tasks and contribute to system architecture, cybersecurity, and operational reliability within maritime environments.

Due to the hands-on and operational nature of maritime systems integration, this role requires regular on-site presence at our Limassol, Cyprus office. Hybrid work is offered, with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remote. Remote-only candidates will not be considered.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and support Linux-based systems (Debian-derived) in shipboard and shore environments.


• Implement and maintain Linux networking.


• Develop automation scripts using Bash and Python to improve reliability and operational efficiency.


• Collaborate with architecture and senior engineering teams to align solutions with maritime and regulatory requirements.


• Support integration across maritime IT/OT systems and networking infrastructure.


• Apply cybersecurity best practices relevant to maritime operations.


• Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, and deployments.


• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational guides.


• Provide technical support and knowledge transfer to operations and support teams.
  

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Engineer or in systems integration.


• Strong hands-on experience with Debian or Debian-based Linux distributions.


• Practical experience with Linux networking, firewalling, and KVM virtualization.


• Familiarity with networking and security infrastructure (Fortinet preferred).


• Experience with scripting and automation.


• Good communication and documentation skills.


• Experience in maritime or mission-critical environments is an advantage..
